Strategic planning is a process that determines the major directions for an organization such as a college/school, department, or major committee, helping organizations determine their focus and use of resources for a set amount of time into the future. Many strategic plans are now done in five year cycles. Strategic planning typically asks questions such as: what is your organization’s unique contribution to your stakeholders and UW? What are external events and information that will contribute to or challenge your organization in the next 5-10 years?
